This is better…
Not the least because it breaks with Drag-Coefficient-Syndrome… which is something of an urban-myth from the 80s… where every year new cars came out with a slightly lower drag-coefficient – and the suspicion was, that the designers could just go straight to .1 if they wanted, but instead they were dropping it a little each year, milking it for all it’s worth.
So anyway, this is a car that actually does like it could turn into a plane. It also looks as though it’s incorporated a lot of Amory Lovens’ ideas about efficiency and safety… ie: these things are safer than normal cars, even though they look a bit flimsy, because they borrow tech from Formula 1 where people walk away from 200 mile an hour crashes. Maybe.
At $20,000 it’s not quite as stupidly priced as other offerings either… although they’re only available in California. $20,000… is still… kindof stupid though. There’s got to be a way of knocking the floor out from under that one.
